Welcome to our practice!  Life can be challenging at times and we are here to help! We serve  all ages with  a number of mental health issues, provide psychological and neuropsychological testing  as well as providing ABA services to children on the autism spectrum. We are taking all necessary health precautions to ensure the safety of our patients and staff.  Real Hope Real Help is providing in person sessions, as well as Teletherapy with telephone and video sessions to accommodate patients.  We hope to provide you with excellent care and help you or a family member reach your full potential and live happy, healthy and productive lives!

Michael-Anne Van Horn

Michael-Anne Van Horn is a certified Special Education Teacher. She was born and raised in Oklahoma and received her bachelor’s degree in Special Education at Northeastern State University. She is happy to call Texas her home for the past 23 years. Michael-Anne has 30 years experience as a special educator working in public, private therapeutic, charter school and private in-home tutoring settings.

Michael-Anne’s experience in the ARD process enables her to assist families who need support, consultation or advocacy to understand their child’s present level of academic achievement (PLAAFP), grade level TEKS, least restrictive environment (LRE), schedule of services, related services, Behavior Intervention Plan (BIP), goals, objectives, accommodations or modifications. She is skilled in the IEP and IAP process and the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEP), Individual Accommodation Plans (IAP/Section 504), and Behavior Intervention Plans (BIP) in a school setting.

Her experience includes teaching students the fundamentals of self-regulation strategies and social emotional learning (SEL). She also has in depth experience teaching students with Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD Inattentive Type, Hyperactive-Impulsive Type, and Combination Type, Mood Disorders, Bipolar Disorder, Disruptive Mood Dysregulation Disorder (DMDD), Depressive Disorder, Anxiety Disorders, Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD), and Sensory Processing Disorder (SPD).

Additional areas of expertise include teaching students who present with Executive Functioning Disorder, Dysgraphia, Specific Learning Disorders (SLD), Mild to Moderate Intellectual Disabilities (ID), and low to below average standard scores (SS) in Math Calculation, Written Expression, Spelling, and Reading.

Michael-Anne is a passionate, experienced professional who is able to connect with students of all ages and abilities while creating a positive learning environment, delivering individualized educational support to students and caring and compassionate help to families.
